Fantasia et alia (2024)
5’ 30”, for brass band
This work, commissioned for the 2024 National Youth Brass Band of NZ, establishes a theme in a traditional motivic style, before taking moments to allow the music to explore small stylistic deviations, always returning to let the theme take priority. The work ends with a fugue on a variation of the theme before a final statement to close.
