In Memoriam Ken Smith (2020)

Written in memory of the great New Zealand conductor and cornet player Ken Smith, this work aims to capture the older style of band writing, with long melodic lines and short solos for most principal instruments. Some motifs quote one of Ken's most loved test pieces, In Memoriam R.K., and the title reminds us of this also.
