Pixar Etudes (2019)

My brother, Liam, and I watched plenty of Pixar films growing up, so for the first piece I wrote specifically for him, I wanted to combine the nostalgia of some of these films from when we were younger with the contemporary music we study and perform today. The backing track features well-known scenes from three Pixar films; Dory's "speaking whale" from Finding Nemo, Mike's improvised "scene" from Monsters Inc. and Woody's rant at Buzz from Toy Story, broken up and mixed together to create a short test of range, rhythm and spontaneity.
